History

With the birth of the City of Calamba on April 21, 2000, several departments were institutionalized within the city government. The former City Councilor Ramil Hernandez, who is currently the governor of the Province of Laguna, sponsored City Ordinance No. 01-091 stipulating the creation of the Cooperative Office, which is also known as the Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Department under the City Government of Calamba. This motion was duly seconded by the former City Councilor Alvin Villa and was subsequently approved on August 27, 2001. Also included in the said city ordinance are the plantilla positions with their corresponding salary grades.
